Description
The super telephoto zoom has a focal length equivalent to 84.5mm to 460mm in the 35mm film format. ED glass is used for the third and eighth lenses for eliminating chromatic aberration for the entire zoom range and correcting other aberration types. This lens can be used for a wide range of shooting from portraits to sports and landscapes and is characterized by a natural out-of-focus (bokeh) effect.

New HD coating
This lens uses a new-generation multicoating that reduces the reflection rate in the visible spectrum up to 50% more than conventional multicoating. This enables the reduction of flare and ghosting for the shooting of clear, high-contrast images even under backlighting and other adverse conditions.
Drip-proof construction
This lens uses a drip-proof construction for preventing water from getting inside the lens. Combined with PENTAX digital SLR cameras also using a drip-proof construction enables use in rainy or foggy conditions, or other locations exposed to water for enhanced durability and reliability.
This lens uses Quick-Shift Focus System for enabling manual focus operation after focusing by AF without any switching operation.
